Entry $10.00 Per Person

There will be numerous door prizes, a silent auction for great sports items, food and a mini bar at the check in area.

Tickets can be obtained at numerous locations or by calling the Elks Lodge 410-221-6044 after 4PM Tue-Sun

**  Two dollars from each ticket sold after 175 will be

added to the Rockfish payout pool. The final payout

pool will be determined the day of the tournament.

Children 14 years and younger are automatically entered to fish for free if fishing with a parent entered in the tournament.

The Cambridge Elks Lodge BPOE #1272 will be sponsoring its second annual one day fishing tournament to be held on Saturday, July 15th. Proceeds of this year’s tournament will be donated to the Elks Sickness and Relief Fund. Money accumulated in the Elk’s Sickness and Relief fund is used to assist local residents who have experienced tragedy within their family. Relief may come in the way of money, food or purchased clothing.

Last year was the first year in which the tournament was held. In all, there were 210 participants who paid $10 each for the opportunity to win a little cash, a trophy, but more importantly bragging rights. Last years big winner was John Grove who took home nearly $700 as well as several trophies. John managed to win first place for rockfish, first place for flounder and he also took money and trophies for bluefish.

The tournament has a ten dollar entry fee per person. Children under the age of 14 are automatically entered into the tournament if fishing with a paid entrant.

The Elk’s Lodge will be providing some attractive door prizes, several silent auction items, food and a mini bar at the check in location. The check in location is the Elk’s Lodge. Access can be made in any of two ways, either by land…between the 83-84 mile markers westbound Rte 50, or by water. If coming in by water, the Lodge is on Hurst Creek about one mile up river from the Hyatt. Negotiating the channel may be tricky so make sure you use your depth finder and stay to the left of the channel when entering the creek.

The money fish in the tournament will be the rockfish with a guaranteed pool payout of at least $500. The money will be awarded in the amounts of at least $300 for first, $150 for second and $50 for third place fish. Awards of one hundred dollars and fifty dollars will be distributed for first and second place for six other species of fish:

     White perch      Catfish         Spot

      Bluefish            Flounder     Croaker

Either a tee shirt or $20 will be awarded for the largest eel and toadfish.

Trophies will be awarded for first through third place registered fish. All fish must be checked in at the Elk’s between 4PM and 6PM. In the event of a tie, earliest entry wins.

To build the rockfish pool above the $500 minimum, two dollars from every ticket over 175 sold will be put into the pool. This pool could grow significantly depending upon participation.

For ticket information please call either the Cambridge Elk’s 410-221-6044 Tuesday- Sunday after 4pm or call Les Simering at 410-221-2808 and leave a message.
