The MSSA is working to provide a unified voice to preserve and protect the rights, traditions and the future of recreational fishing.
This past September we lost our long
time chapter president, good friend and fishing buddy, Clint Waters. Clint was
a devoted MSSA member, an exceptional MSSADorchester leader, and a steward of
Clean Water and all that Clean Water encompasses. He is surely missed. Most of
this newsletter is in Clint’s words from January
NO UNITY – NO VOICE – NO FISH
2016 – WOW. Another year has passed and a new year has started. Our Chapter is starting the new year off with our flea market on Saturday, Februrary 27th. You should receive your newsletter before this event as a reminder to support your flea market. We need help to set up on Friday, February,26th at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post #91. Also, if you have any donated items for our club’s table, please bring them that Friday while we are setting up. Also, bring your friends, family and neighbors to the flea market for there will be some great bargains on almost everything. There are a couple of table the ladies will enjoy. This flea market is very important to our Chapter. So mark your calendars for our flea market on February 27th.
YEAR LONG FISHING CONTEST
Our Chapter members have entered different species of fish all year and we will announce the winner at the January 21st meeting. We have 13 different fish entered. We will have three winners. All the names that entered their fish will be put on separate tickets. First will win $100.00 and second and third will receive $50.00 each. No one angler can win twice.
On December 12th, we had a very enjoyable dinner at Old Salty’s on Hooper Island. Everyone was in holiday spirits and the food was great. I want to thank Bob Geisler for putting this affair together.
Let’s start the year off with good information and fellowship with our fellow members.
See you at the meeting or on the water.
FISHERMEN’S WISDOM: NOTHING GROWS FASTER THAN A FISH FROM THE TIME HE BITES UNTIL THE TIME HE GETS AWAY.
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, then I most humbly pray. When in the Lord’s great landing net, and peacefully asleep, that in his mercy I be judged Big Enough To Keep
